Here’s what Business Week had to say about some of the more widely acclaimed examples of complex data visualization -’While the practice of visually representing information is so old it’s arguably the foundation of all design, a newfound fascination with data visualization has lately been sweeping the globe. Here are some of the modern pioneers of the discipline, who might just change the way you look at your business—and the world.’
Make Sense: Complex Information Visualization is and will continue to be an ever-increasing part of our hyper-networked experiences of our World. Not to say that there will be no more room for simplicity. As John Maeda states most eloquently in his book, The Laws of Simplicity – ‘Simplicity and Complexity need each other.’ I believe that these kinds of attempts at mapping the erstwhile impossible connections (using the Cloud, social and mobile networks etc.) will help evolve a new language of communication. One which is multilayered and evolving in real time.
